The Center for Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine (CFWH) provides management and consulting services to healthcare providers in the area of wound care and hyperbaric medicine. By focusing on the needs of the patients as well as the partners we serve, The Center for Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine is able to bring advanced wound healing strategies to many communities around the country. Responsible for ensuring compliance in the program’s safety on behalf of the patients, company and hospital. The wound care technician will work closely with the RN Manager, HBO safety director, Office Manager, Program Director and physician(s) in the coordination of patient care and make recommendations in procedures for the operations and maintenance of the wound and hyperbaric program. The wound care technician will resume responsibility for patients while undergoing wound care treatments and procedures and/or hyperbaric oxygen therapy. The incumbent will make necessary recommendations for the departmental safety policies and incorporate new safety procedures as appropriate. Holds the authority to restrict and remove any potentially hazardous supply or equipment items from hyperbaric environment. Coordinates with the Program Director and HBO Safety Director in reviewing and documenting safety related events and reports appropriate items to facilitate staff education. The wound care technician will also work with RN Manager to help coordinate patient flow in the wound care center. This position will also be responsible to transport patients using the company van, as needed, to and from the patient’s residence to the clinic.
Currently Licensed/Certified EMT with state or national licensure/certification. Other medical certification may be accepted.
Valid Driver’s License with positive driving history. A Chauffeur’s License is required in some states.
Prefer Two (2) years of medical experience as a licensed or certified health provider preferred from accredited school or college.
Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) preferred. If not currently certified as a CHT or DMT, must attend a UHMS/NBDHMT approved 40 hour hyperbaric course within three (3) months of hire date and complete 480 hours of hyperbaric training/preceptorship within twelve (12) months, then take and pass the national CHT exam.
Current BLS from approved agency.
ACLS certification preferred.
Must possess proficient computer skills and experience in clinical documentation and navigating an Electronic Medical Record.
Must possess good verbal and written communications skills.
